Our Caerphilly Bisnet Presentation on Free Website Tools Was a Success

Our presentation at the Caerphilly Bisnet Club on Tuesday 2nd December 2008 was a great success. The presentation,  "How to Use Free Tools To Improve Your Website" was presented to local businesses by Laurence Cope with the aim of introducing the excellent free open source tools available on the internet that can be used to improve their websites.

Grant Funding Availability in Caerphilly for Websites and Shopping Carts

Update (Sept 2008): Caerphilly County Borough Council no longer offer an ICT grant toward the design, development and hosting of your website and/or shopping cart. There may be another grant provided in January 2009, although this is not confirmed yet.

The previous ICT grant provided help toward the costs for the design, development and hosting of your website and/or shopping cart. The idea of the grant was to help local businesses improve their IT services and systems allowing them to be more modern and competitive and ultimately increase sales which will further benefit the area. Grants were provided up to 50% of the costs to a maximum of £2000.

You may be aware that Microsoft has released the next version of its popular browser, Internet Explorer 7. The new version provides many improvements over the previous version, Internet Explorer 6, such as a new look, tabbed browsing allowing multiple websites to be opened in one window and improved security and protection for phishing and malicious websites.
